The 2016 Kolkata edition of ‘India International Travel Mart’ commenced today 4 March and goes on until 6 March at the Milan Mela Trade Centre, opposite Science City. This year, the event's theme is set around the forthcoming summer season.
With this year's edition of 'IITM' in Kolkata, Sphere Travelmedia & Exhibitions Pvt. Ltd., completes 17 years of creating business opportunities for the hospitality, travel and tourism industry from India and abroad.
The exhibition was inaugurated today by Shri. AR Bardhan, IAS, Principal Secretary, Tourism, Government of West Bengal.
The event is being organized in association with West Bengal Tourism. The event has 15 state tourism departments participating and Indonesia Tourism is the ‘Partner Country’ for the event. A delegation from Indonesia will attend the event.
Other international participants include Dubai, Italy and Nepal. Gujarat Tourism is the ‘Partner State’ at the Event. Jammu & Kashmir, Maharashtra & Andhra Pradesh are the ‘Feature States’ at the event.
Other states being represented include Jammu & Kashmir, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh Tourism, Punjab, Kerala, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Andhra Pradesh, Goa, etc.
Travel agents and hotelier delegation from Jammu & Kashmir are looking at wooing the West Bengal travel market for the coming summer season.
More than 100 hotels and resorts are participating from all over India, making it one of the most diverse ranges of hospitality products in the country on display. Diverse Tourism segments are on display such as pilgrimage travel, adventure, cultural pursuits, shopping tours, etc.
This year, the Kolkata edition has more than 20% increase in the exhibitor space. Oyo Rooms is the Platinum Hospitality Partner.
