| Air India Commences Pune-Mumbai Flights From Chandigarh |
Air India has launched two new direct flights from Chandigarh to Pune and Mumbai. The first ever flight from Chandigarh to Pune took off from Chandigarh International airport at 1050 hours and new Chandigarh-Mumbai flight took off from Chandigarh at 1745 hours. With the first ever flight from Chandigarh to Pune, the connection connects both emerging IT hubs and will be a big boon to industry and passengers travelling between the cities. Both the flights are receiving a good response from commuters and inaugural flights are full. To celebrate the commencement of the flights, cultural activities like Bhangra dance was performed at the airport.
Both the flights will run 5 days a week i.e Monday to Friday on an A320 aircraft. The flight, AI 813 will take off from Chandigarh at 1050 hours and arrive in Pune at 1320 hrs. The return flight AI 814 from Pune will depart at 1400 hours and land in Chandigarh at 1630 hrs. The flight, AI 642 will take off from Chandigarh at 1745 hours and arrive in Mumbai at 2010 hours. The return flight AI 641 from Mumbai will depart at 0720 hours and land in Chandigarh at 1000 hours.
Last year, Air India placed Chandigarh on the International map by commencing the first International flight from Chandigarh to Sharjah. Air India has successfully linked different corners of the country, under the ‘Connect India’ programme. The two newly launched flights not only help in boosting connectivity from Chandigarh, but also help in cutting down travel time for passengers from Chandigarh to Mumbai and Pune.
