| The concept of CONCIERGE in India |
20th February 2012 marked a new milestone for Les Clefs d'Or India. Members of the association introduced the profession of a Concierge at the Institute of Hotel Management Catering Technology & Applied Nutrition, Mumbai. This was an one-hour session, which introduced the concept of concierge in India, its history & growth of “Les Clefs d'Or India”.
This session was conducted by Mr. Edwin Saldanha Concierge from The Oberoi Hotel Mumbai (Hon President Les Clefs d'Or India) & Mr. Albert Amanna Concierge from The InterContinental Marine Drive (Hon 1st Vice President Les Clefs d'Or India) and Ms. Valencia Albuquerque from The Four Season's Mumbai (Hon General Secretary Western Region) sharing some wonderful guest experiences to the students during this session. Session ended with an interactive session with the students who were keen to know how one could be a part of this unique fraternity.
With the hospitality, industry growing in leaps and bound “Les Clefs d'Or India” aims at introducing the concierge concept at the root level which is the Hotel Management Institution in the country.
This event was definitely a stepping stone for “Les Clefs d'Or India” and appreciated the efforts made by Mr. Jayesh Saxena (Principal IHMCTAN, Mumbai) & Ms. Deepika Reddy (Lecturer Housekeeping IHMCTAN, Mumbai). “We do look at having such events with many more Hotel Management Institution's in the country,” said Mr. Saldanha.
