As part of the delegation’s agenda, Honourable Prof. Authur Mutambara will commission the India-Zimbabwe Travel Council (IZTC) in India with a key mandate to promote travel between India and Zimbabwe especially outbound travel from India
The Initiative is constituted by Zimbabwe Tourism Industry and the Outbound Tour Operators of India. Commenting on the upcoming Commissioning Ceremony, the Chief Executive of the Zimbabwe Tourism Authority, Mr. Karikoga Kaseke said, “This is a rare opportunity for us to tap into the Indian market which is among the fastest growing economies in the world. We are projecting the IZTC will result in increased tourism arrivals from the meagre 3000 recorded in 2011. With the introduction of Emirates, we are certain that these projections will be met. The IZTC after being commissioned will be formalized into an institutional framework and will complement ZTA’s marketing efforts.”
