Lufthansa City Center (LCC) has launched its own travel distribution system “LUCY”, representing an industry-leading solution to incorporate New Distribution Capabilities (NDC). The system has been rolled out to a constantly rising number of LCC franchisees - almost 40 LCC partners actively use Lucy already for their customers. Lucy is a ‘neutral’ travel distribution system. It integrates GDS and Non-GDS content into one system and provides LCC members with full control on content providers, fares, workflows, performance and policies through Business Rules Engines in ONE platform; seamlessly connected to a rising number of suppliers. Besides airlines and cars, the hotels segment has just recently been enlarged by content from RateHawk and Booking.com
Lucy is LCC’s ready-made, level 3 certified NDC solution, displaying early-mover airlines NDC fares and products alongside standard GDS content in one view. Being a multi-provider platform, LUCY integrates the traditional GDS such as Amadeus, Travelport and Sabre, with the considerable added benefits of New Distribution Capabilities (NDC). For instance, the platform enables direct connect booking of various airlines and hotels, with Lufthansa Group, British Airways, American Airlines and almost the entire range of international Low-Cost-Carriers already available. Hotel aggregators such as Booking.com & RateHawk are already integrated. Connections to Air France/KLM, Air Canada, Qantas and Emirates are under development, and numerous other suppliers including insurance and limousine companies are planned for the future.
