According to Moscow City Tourism Committee, the capital of Russia with its diverse range of products is fast emerging as one of the most interesting and productive cities for the travel-trade, both for leisure and business travel. The Moscow City Tourism Committee is the official organization that promotes Moscow as a tourist destination.

Safari Plus INTALK with Ms. Anastasia Popova, Deputy General Director for International and Industry Cooperation of Project Office for the Development of Tourism and Hospitality in Moscow.

Ms. Popova highlighted Moscow's commitment to providing a more inviting and convenient experience for tourists, with a special emphasis on Indian travelers. Moscow aims not only to position itself as a cultural capital but also as a thriving business hub, actively seeking trade partnerships and welcoming tourists and vacationers alike.

India ranks among the top three countries visiting Moscow for both leisure and MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) purposes. The Moscow City Tourism Committee has intensified its collaboration, organizing familiarization tours for delegates and facilitating business trips to showcase the city's tourism potential.

Ms. Popova discussed the city's efforts to tap into the growing potential of the MICE segment. In collaboration with NIMA, Moscow conducted a familiarization trip for MICE tour operators last year, and this year, they have initiated conferences with corporate clients. The city has also undertaken extensive promotional activities in India, including roadshows and participation in travel and wedding expos.

Moscow is also catering to the wedding segment, having recently hosted a grand Indian wedding. To better serve Indian tourists, the city has improved travel logistics, provided better access to information, and tailored accommodations to meet cultural and culinary preferences.

In 2023, the city witnessed an increase in Indian visitors. These initiatives collectively contribute to Moscow's goal of offering an enriched and enjoyable experience for Indian tourists, reinforcing the city's position as a premier global destination.
