TAAI’s “RALLY FOR THE VALLEY”
A Call to Restore Tourism in Jammu & Kashmir

The Travel Agents Association of India (TAAI), the nation’s premier and oldest travel trade association, is set to make an impactful return to Jammu & Kashmir with its revitalizing campaign – “Rally for the Valley”, scheduled from 10th to 12th June 2025 in Srinagar. This significant initiative underlines TAAI’s unwavering commitment to supporting national tourism and restoring traveler confidence in the region.
As part of TAAI’s landmark 75th Anniversary celebrations, this campaign calls upon 100 TAAI members from across India to be a part of this purpose-driven journey to Srinagar, joining the Managing Committee Meeting to stand in solidarity with the local tourism stakeholders and highlight that “Travel to J&K is Safe”.
The campaign is a strong statement against any external attempts to disrupt India’s tourism ecosystem and livelihoods tied to it. It also reaffirms TAAI’s historical connection with Kashmir, having organized its highly successful 2018 Convention in Srinagar, which had triggered a resurgence in regional tourism.
Commenting on the initiative:
Mr. Sunil Kumar R., President, TAAI, added:
“Rally for the Valley is a tribute to the resilient spirit of Jammu & Kashmir and a demonstration of TAAI’s leadership in shaping India’s tourism narrative. Our message is clear – the region is ready, safe, and waiting to welcome the world. Tourism is not only an economic pillar but also a unifier of people and cultures.”
Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Omar Abdullah was at his usual best in his most eloquent and touching address to the event’s large audience. He narrated how the massive growth pattern of J&K was suddenly reduced to “Vacant seats and Vacant rooms” that threatened the livelihood of J&K.
He added that when things go right, there are friends who show up to celebrate. But when the situation encounters difficulty, even the closest of friends are difficult to find.
He applauded and thanked TAAI for this most timely gesture.
Mr. Sameer Baktoo, Chairman, TAAI J&K Chapter, said:
“This campaign is more than symbolic. It represents the strength of unity in the travel fraternity and the trust we aim to rebuild among travelers. With over 110 active TAAI member agencies in J&K, we are committed to making this visit meaningful, impactful, and memorable for all delegates.”
This rally is not just a meeting—it is a movement. A movement that showcases gratitude to the armed forces, affirms unity in the travel trade, and celebrates the unmatched beauty and resilience of Jammu & Kashmir.
TAAI has also facilitated special airfares and exclusive hotel discounts for participating members, ensuring a seamless and affordable experience. With limited registrations capped at 100 members, this initiative marks yet another chapter in TAAI’s legacy of nation-building through tourism.
