The Grand Inauguration of Sri Lanka MICE Expo 2025
The Sri Lanka MICE Expo 2025 (SL-MICE Expo 2025), organized by the Sri Lanka Convention Bureau (SLCB)—the national tourism organization under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment, and Tourism—was officially inaugurated today under the patronage of Hon. Dr. Harini Amarasuriya, Prime Minister of Sri Lanka, as the Chief Guest.

The multi-day expo brings together over 115 hosted international MICE and travel operators along with media representatives from 30 countries, creating a powerful platform for global networking and collaboration. For Sri Lanka, this is a significant step in strengthening its place on the international MICE map while showcasing its products, services, and innovations.
The event began with a Business Forum and Welcome Reception at Cinnamon Grand Colombo on 22 September, followed by the Opening Ceremony and B2B sessions at Cinnamon Life, City of Dreams, and a Gala Dinner at The Marquee at Port City on 23 September. The Business Forum featured a thought-provoking panel discussion on “The Future of Sri Lanka MICE Tourism in a Changing World”. Meanwhile, the B2B sessions are set to host more than 10,000 business meetings, connecting 110+ local vendors with international buyers.
Adding to the experience, the Sri Lanka Convention Bureau has curated a post-event familiarization tour, allowing hosted buyers to explore the central region of Sri Lanka. From world-class convention centers and luxury resorts to stunning landscapes and rich cultural heritage, the program highlights Sri Lanka’s potential as a world-class MICE destination.
Speaking at the inauguration, the Prime Minister emphasized Sri Lanka’s potential to emerge as Asia’s rising MICE hub, with its perfect blend of modern infrastructure, professional expertise, and unmatched hospitality.
