World Tourism Day Celebrations at Guru Nanak Khalsa College, Karnal
On World Tourism Day 2024, Guru Nanak Khalsa College in Karnal hosted an engaging celebration under the leadership of Ms. Sonia Wadhawan, Head of the Tourism Department. Esteemed guests, Mr. Manoj Babbar and Mr. Gour Kanjilal, were invited as Guests of Honour to mark the occasion. They addressed the students, sharing insights on this year’s theme, which highlighted the crucial role of tourism in fostering cross-cultural connections and promoting sustainability.
The celebration included a memorable cake-cutting ceremony, organized by the students as part of the festivities. In recognition of their achievements, students were awarded certificates for completing a 45-day online training program, a testament to their commitment to advancing their skills in the tourism sector.
To commemorate the day, a tree was planted on the college grounds by Mr. Babbar and Mr. Kanjilal, symbolizing a shared responsibility towards environmental stewardship. This initiative served as a meaningful reminder of the connection between tourism and sustainability.
