Antara Cruises, a pioneer in the river cruising is excited to announce the arrival of the MV Bengal Ganga to Varanasi, marking the beginning of its new spiritual and cultural journeys on the Ganga River. Following its relocation from Kolkata, the ship will dock at Namo Ghat and offer travellers an exclusive river cruising experience of the rich cultural and religious heritage of Varanasi and beyond.

Apart from seeing the Ganga Aarti, the tourists will be taken on a tour to the surrounding districts. The ship will be cruising upstream towards to Chunar, Mirzapur and Prayagraj and downstream towards Kaithi, Ghazipur, Ballia and Patna depending on water conditions. All sites of great beauty and importance along lesser known stretches of the river.

After its successful renovation and relocation, MV Bengal Ganga brings Antara Cruises' signature luxury river cruising to the Varanasi region, revered for its ancient religious and historical significance. Starting from 23rd October, 2024, guests aboard the MV Bengal Ganga will embark on an immersive journey with curated itineraries that blend timeless rituals, temples, and sacred myths with the silent beauty of the Ganga.

The 3 Nights/4 Days Cruise departs every Friday. Starting with a welcome onboard and a delicious lunch at noon, travellers will sail along with Ganga, witness the famous Ganga Arti on local boats, the iconic Kashi Vishwanath temple, followed by an enriching excursion to Sarnath, a site of great significance in Buddhist history, a visit to Varanasi’s local bazaars. In this itinerary, the ship also sails to Kaithi and Chunar for an overnight stay onboard. The customised itinerary offers more time to enjoy local culture while serenely sailing along the waterway.

It's worth noting that all meals, whether local specialties or international cuisine, are vegetarian. The upper deck Saloon offers a cozy atmosphere for relaxation, complete with stunning river views and a selection of delicious non-alcoholic specialty drinks, including sherbets, teas, and coffees.
