Ajmer
Draped in the majestic Aravalli Mountains of Rajasthan, Ajmer was once known as Ajaymeru under the rule of Prithviraj Chauhan, in 12th century. One of the most shrine temple of Lord Brahma and Savitri temple (Savitri Wife of Lord Brahma) is situated at 19 Km from Ajmer.
Taragarh Fort, one of the oldest hill forts in India. Looming high on a hilltop the fort allows its visitor to take a fine look at the entire city. Another point of interest Ajmer Museum which is situated in Akbar's Fort is now known as Magazine. There are several sections within the museum such as Archeology, Armory, Arts, Crafts and Industry. The edifice is built of red sandstones, which have been positioned in a square pattern giving it a wonderful outlook.
Besides pilgrimage and heritage sites one can indulge in an adventure like camel rides. Do visit Ana Sagar Lake, an artificial lake near Darga Sharif. The lake is spread over 13 km and there is an island in centre of the lake which can be reached by boats. Various water activities one can experience on Lake.
