India Tourism and ANTOA Host Travel Trade Meet to Promote Lesser-Known Destinations of Andaman

India Tourism, Sri Vijaya Puram, in association with the Andaman Nicobar Tour Operators Association (ANTOA), successfully organized a Travel Trade Meet at Hotel TSG Emerald View, Phoenix Bay, Port Blair. The event focused on promoting "Lesser Known Tourism Destinations of Andaman Islands."

The Chief Guest for the event was Dr. K. Chandrasekharan, President, ANCCI, along with Shri Madan Lall, General Secretary, ANCCI. Sri Vijaya Puram was the Guest of Honour. The event was coordinated by Shri N. Velmurugan, Assistant Director, India Tourism, and Shri Simson, President, ANTOA.

Discussions revolved around the challenges and opportunities of promoting Andaman’s hidden tourism gems. A PowerPoint presentation showcased the untapped tourism potential of various lesser-known locations, along with the hurdles in marketing them.

  • Smt. Rashida Bibi (Pradhan, Gram Panchayat, Hope Town)

  • Shri Durlab Das (Pradhan, Gram Panchayat, Gupta Para)

  • Shri Arun Singh (President, Avains Club – Bird Watching)

  • Shri Uday Bhaskar (Astor Tourism – Star Gazing, Chidiya Tapu)

  • Shri Ebrahim Jadwet (Director, Ramolon Local Traditional Handicrafts Store)

  • Shri Ashraf Hanif (Bike Adventure Tourism)

These experts emphasized the significance of promoting Andaman’s diverse tourism offerings, including bird watching, star gazing, adventure tourism, and local handicrafts.

The event witnessed active participation from over 50 leading tour operators and various Gram Panchayat representatives, Pradhans, and Samiti members. The collective discussions aimed to enhance awareness and drive tourism to Andaman’s lesser-explored regions.
