Viet Nam Showcases Timeless Charm and Ambitious Growth Vision at ATF 2026
At the ASEAN Tourism Forum (ATF) 2026, VietNam National Authority of Tourism presented a compelling roadmap for the future, led by Mr. Nguyen Quy Phuong, Director for Tourism Marketing & International Relations. The briefing highlighted Viet Nam’s strong recovery, progressive policies, and diverse tourism offerings that continue to attract global travellers.
A major advantage for Viet Nam is its favourable visa policy, making the destination more accessible and travel-friendly for international markets. This is complemented by Viet Nam’s reputation as a safe, hospitable, and dynamic destination, backed by warm local hospitality, a stable environment, enhanced safety standards, and rapidly developing tourism infrastructure and services.
Viet Nam has witnessed strong growth from international markets, with significant post-pandemic recovery and rising global interest. Tourist arrivals touched 21.2 million in 2025, and the country is targeting an ambitious 25 million international visitors in 2026, reflecting confidence in its tourism strategy and product depth.
The destination offers diverse tourism products for global travellers. Cultural and heritage tourism remains a cornerstone, with eight UNESCO World Heritage Sites, vibrant festivals, traditional craft villages, and rich ethnic diversity, especially in mountainous regions. Nature and eco-tourism position Viet Nam as Asia’s leading nature destination, featuring mountains, jungles, rivers, caves, and a strong focus on responsible, community-driven travel.
Viet Nam’s beaches and islands such as Phu Quoc, Da Nang, and Nha Trang offer a tropical mix of luxury resorts, adventure sports, and island hopping. Culinary tourism, wellness retreats, adventure experiences, and immersive city journeys add further depth.
The country is also strengthening its position as a MICE destination, with Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, and Phu Quoc—APEC 2027 host—emerging as world-class event hubs.
Safari Plus brings you these highlights from ATF 2026, where Viet Nam clearly positioned itself as a destination of timeless charm and growing global opportunity.
