"The Parade of Sails was more than just a visual treat—it was an opportunity to inspire future sailors, promote sustainable tourism, and showcase Mumbai’s thriving yachting community."
Adding to the vision, Alpana I. Chauhan (MD - Avennue Sea Tourism), a hospitality industry veteran, highlighted how sailing and marine tourism provide unique experiences for travelers. She shared,
"Sea Tourism is one of the most sought-after travel experiences. Beyond sailing, we educate guests about India’s maritime heritage and environmental conservation. Our efforts also focus on inclusive tourism, ensuring accessibility for specially-abled and women travelers."
With the growing global interest in marine tourism, events like this reinforce India’s position as an emerging hub for nautical experiences. From leisure sailing to luxury yacht tourism, the potential to develop premium maritime travel packages is immense—offering tourists an unmatched way to explore India’s coastal wonders.
The Travel Industry’s Role in Promoting Sailing Tourism
With Mumbai serving as the gateway to India’s western coastline, travel agencies, tour operators, and hospitality players have a golden opportunity to integrate sailing, yachting, and cruise tourism into their offerings. Promoting sailing as an experiential and sustainable tourism option can attract high-value travelers looking for unique and eco-conscious adventures.
As a guest at the event aptly summarized,
