The 20th IAAPI AMUSEMENT EXPO 2020, the biggest B2B exhibition on sourcing for amusement, leisure and recreation industry-supported, by Ministry of Tourism (Incredible India) was inaugurated by Ms Amanda Thompson, Chairperson - International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA) with Mr. Sohansinh Jadeja – President – Indian Association of Amusement Parks and Industries (IAAPI), along with key office-bearers.
Ms Amanda Thompson OBE, Chairperson - International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA), lauded the progress of the country in the field of amusement industry, and urged the stakeholders in boosting the sector further. Mr. Sohansinh Jadeja, President – IAAPI, said, “In today’s era amusement parks are not just about rides and fun games but have evolved as a tourist destination from rides, exhibits, F&B options, retail outlet and quality accommodation. In the coming decade, we expect the industry to more than double in the coming decade”.

Amusement Parks in India attract over 30 million (3 crore) visitors annually. Children & Youth visit the park either in school groups or with families and constitutes 50% of park visitors. Adults constitute the remaining 50% as they either visit with their families or in corporate groups.
Further, Malls are effectively leveraging the presence of an Indoor Amusement Centers (IAC’s) for drawing crowds and ringing up sales. IACs are not just providing new experiences, but serve as an added attraction, giving over large swaths of space to entertainment companies and expecting them to become the main draws. This includes expansive family entertainment centres, destination experiences and so on.
IAAPI is a non-government, not-for-profit, industry-led and industry-managed organization, playing a proactive role in development of this sector. Founded in 1999, IAAPI is India's premier business association having over 445 members from the private sectors including small and medium enterprises consisting of park operators and equipment manufacturers.
