In a bid to bolster India's standing as a premier Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE) destination, the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, spearheaded a dynamic presence at the Asia Pacific Incentives and Meetings Event (AIME) in Melbourne, Australia from 19th to 21st February. AIME, recognized as the leading trade event for the meetings and event industry in the Asia Pacific region, witnessed India's enthusiastic participation, involving various stakeholders such as prominent Convention Centres, hotel chains, IRCTC, and the India Convention Promotion Bureau.
The Incredible Indian Pavilion took center stage, showcasing the country's state-of-the-art Convention Centres, including the recently inaugurated Bharat Mandapam and Yashobhoomi in Dwarka. Dr. Sushil Kumar, Consul General of India, Melbourne, engaged with exhibitors, highlighting India's capabilities to host high-level international meetings and conferences.
Led by the Ministry of Tourism, the Indian delegation actively participated in networking, emphasizing India's potential as a 365-days MICE destination. The event served as a platform for meaningful interactions with key opinion leaders and decision-makers, solidifying India's position in the Asia Pacific region.
The Ministry of Tourism's continuous efforts to position India as an emerging MICE destination gained momentum with the launch of 'Meet in India,' a distinct sub-brand under 'Incredible India.' This strategic move aims to underscore India's excellent connectivity, world-class infrastructure, knowledge hub, and unique tourist attractions, making it an attractive choice for hosting conferences and events.
In the wake of successful G20 meetings during India's presidency, the Ministry's proactive approach at AIME cements its commitment to overcoming seasonality challenges and projecting India as a thriving MICE destination on the global stage.
