MoT organizing 10th International Tourism Mart in Aizawl, Mizoram
Ministry of Tourism, Government of India is organizing the 10th International Tourism Mart (ITM) to promote North East Region from 17th to 19th November 2022 in Aizawl, Mizoram under the Chairmanship of Shri G. Kishan Reddy, Hon’ble Minister of Tourism, Culture and DONER, with the objective to highlight the tourism potential of the Northeast region in domestic and international markets.
The three-day ITM event will be attended by North-eastern Tourism Ministers, Seniors Officials of Ministry of Tourism, State Governments, and Heads of the Tourism & Hospitality Associations. In addition to the business meetings, the three-day event will include, presentations, cultural evenings and press meets with the media from India and overseas. Post-Mart familiarisation tours to the states in the region have been arranged by the State Governments for the overseas delegates to create awareness about the rich and varied tourism products of the states of the North Eastern region and give them first-hand knowledge and experience of the destination.
The event will focus on "Priorities of G20 for Tourism Track", since India will assume the forthcoming G20 Presidency for a year starting from 1st December 2022. The Mart will bring together the tourism business fraternity and entrepreneurs from the eight North Eastern States. The event has been planned and scheduled to facilitate interaction between buyers, sellers, media, Government agencies and other stakeholders to create a buzz.
The event will be held in R. Dengthuama Indoor Stadium, Mualpui, Aizawl. The event will also include presentations by state governments on their tourism potential, whereas a vibrant exhibition by State Tourism Departments from the North Eastern region will showcase the tourism products of respective participating states. The states Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Sikkim and Tripura will be presenting the Tourism facilities and development taking in the region. The business sessions planned at the event are - Session I: Green Tourism; Session II: Digitalization / Skills / Tourism MSMEs; Session III: Destination Management in NER. The event has been planned and scheduled to facilitate interaction between buyers, sellers, media, Government agencies and others.
