Kazakh Delegation Showcases Tourism Potential to Indian Tour Operators
On 22 August 2024, a Kazakh delegation led by Kazakhstan Tourism Board along with 7 representatives from the country's tourism industry, presented tourist potential and tour packages to Indian tour operators and the Heads of the Travel Agents Association of India (TAAI) in Mumbai. This event was organized under the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan and supported by the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the Republic of India. Additionally, B2B meetings were held between Indian and Kazakh tour operators.
Kazakhstan, a vast and diverse country in Central Asia, is an emerging destination that offers Indian travelers an unparalleled mix of adventure, culture, and natural beauty. From bustling cities like Almaty and Astana to stunning national parks and serene landscapes, Kazakhstan promises an enriching travel experience that caters to all interests.
The number of tourists (served in accommodation facilities) from the Republic of India to Kazakhstan increased more than tripled by the end of 2023, rising from 19,000 people in 2022 to 54,000 people in 2023. This substantial increase can be attributed to the availability of regular direct flights between the two countries seven days a week, the introduction of a 14-day visa-free regime for Indian citizens in 2022, and the growing interest in Kazakhstan as a tourist destination.
