OTM 2026 Positions India at the Centre of Global Tourism Growth
OTM 2026, Asia’s leading travel trade show, is set to return to Mumbai from 5 to 7 February 2026 at the Jio World Convention Centre, reaffirming India’s position as one of the most influential tourism markets in the world. With over 2,200 exhibitors from more than 60 countries, participation from 45+ National Tourism Organisations (NTOs), and 30+ destinations exhibiting exclusively, the event is expected to draw over 50,000 trade visitors and more than 1,000 hosted and VIP buyers. The scale and diversity of participation underline the growing strategic importance of India in the global travel economy.
India’s evolution from an emerging outbound market to a strategic priority for global destinations is clearly reflected at OTM 2026. Rising disposable incomes, enhanced air connectivity, and a growing demand for experiential and long-haul travel have reshaped global perceptions of Indian travellers. Recognised by NielsenIQ as the Leading Travel Trade Show in India and Asia for two consecutive years, OTM mirrors this transformation, positioning itself as a critical gateway for international tourism stakeholders seeking access to India’s decision-makers.
A defining feature of OTM 2026 is the strong presence of exotic and emerging destinations, signalling a new phase of engagement with the Indian market. Tourism boards from Bhutan, Cambodia, Cayman Islands, Fiji, Georgia, Greece, Indonesia, Israel, Kenya, Korea, Malaysia, Mauritius, Morocco, Namibia, Nepal, Oman, Peru, Philippines, Seychelles, Singapore, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Switzerland, Taiwan, Tanzania, Türkiye, Uganda, Zambia, and more will be present, alongside regional bodies such as Visit Almaty, Visit Brussels, and Danang Tourism Promotion Centre. Several destinations, including Cambodia, Fiji, Greece, Mauritius, Oman, Peru, Seychelles, Switzerland, and Türkiye, are participating exclusively at OTM, highlighting their focused, long-term commitment to India.
Established Western markets continue to reinforce their engagement, with strong European participation supported by industry associations, alongside the US Commercial Service representing North American interests. Africa is emerging as a high-potential region, with multiple African tourism boards positioning India as a key source market for leisure, wildlife, adventure, and experiential travel.
Designed as a business-first B2B platform, OTM 2026 places strong emphasis on measurable outcomes. With over 50,000 pre-scheduled meetings expected, the show will facilitate targeted engagement across tourism boards, airlines, hotels, DMCs, cruise operators, attractions, and travel technology providers. Complementing the exhibition, OTM Forum will host high-level leadership dialogues featuring government representatives and global industry leaders, while CineLocales will spotlight the growing influence of screen tourism.
Commenting ahead of the event, Sanjiv Agarwal, Chairman & CEO, Fairfest Media Ltd., said, “For a long time, India was seen as an emerging opportunity. Today, it is one of the most sought-after and strategic travel markets globally. OTM was created to serve this exact moment, as a platform where the global travel industry can engage directly with India’s decision-makers in a focused, ROI-driven environment. With OTM 2026, we are building on the strong confidence shown by the industry and delivering an even more impactful edition with exhibitors from over 60 countries participating.”
